Does The Beyond Burger Live Up To The Hype?

Below is the transcript of the video.

I'm reviewing a product that I've been waiting and dying to get my hands on and it's the Beyond Burger. This burger is 100% plant-based and it looks and feels, I don't know if it feels like a burger.

It has 20 grams of plant-based protein. It doesn't have any GMO. It doesn't have any soy and it doesn't have any gluten. Beyond Meat is not paying me for this review. As soon as I heard about this product I just wanted to try it for myself to see if it really as they say bleeds like real burger.

Each package comes with two quarter-pound patties. I was a little disappointed that it only came with two as opposed to four but I'm going to work with the two that it came with. Since I only have two burgers to work with, what I'm going to do is I'm going to take one of the patties and cook it just out of the package. I'm not going to season it I'm not going to do anything to it. I just want to see how it tastes as it is. The second patty I'm going to season it and make it just how I make my regular burgers.

According to the instructions on the back of the package, all you have to do is preheat the grill or pan to medium high heat and cook for 3 minutes per side. Sounds easy and it sounds quick. This is what the patties look like. They look like meat. They actually look kind of like spam, like if you ground some spam and put it in the shape of a patty. That’s what it looks like.

I ground the patty. I'm going to add some onions, garlic powder, onion powder, some adobo, can't live without adobo. Actually, I don't think any Hispanic can live without adobo. A little bit of Worchester sauce. I'm just going to mix all of the ingredients into the patty. It seems to be binding well. I think it has to do with the greasiness. I don’t know but it seems to be acting as a binding ingredient. So this way if you do want to season it, it's just a little messy but you could get it back into its shape like this, why not give it a try.

Now that I finished seasoning this patty, I'm going to take this one and the unseasoned patty and cook them. They're supposed to be done in six minutes so I can't wait to try both versions of it. I don’t know if you can see there's some type of oil residue on the package, so since it has oil in it I'm not going to put any oil on the pan because I don't want it to be extra greasy.

The pan is heated so I'm going to put my seasoned burger in first. I'm going to try to be very gentle with it since it's already falling apart. So since it is falling apart a little bit because I messed with it I'm just going to try to put it all back together on the pan and let it cook. Now I'm going to take my unseasoned untouched patty and put it right on the pan there.

If you don't mess with the burger it keeps its shape and it's pretty thick. Now as you can see from my seasoned burger, it's a lot wider and a lot flatter than the original patty.

Let’s see how my burger flips. Okay not too bad. If you don't want to a burger that falls apart don't ground the patty.

I’m not going to put any ketchup or any condiments on it until after once we’ve tasted the burger. I'm going to cut this into four pieces so that my family can also try this. This is what the unseasoned patty looks like. It kept its shape and it looks just like a burger. Let's see what it tastes like.

It does remind me of a meat burger. I don't want to say it tastes like meat but it does resemble and the flavor really really does remind me of a regular beef burger. It's actually good it's tasty I mean on its own so you can not season it and just eat it like this.

This is my seasoned burger as you can see probably not as thick as the unseasoned burger. Now let's taste my seasoned burger. The season burger actually tastes more like a meat burger than the unseasoned burger, or it’s just triggering my burger memories of when I used to eat beef burgers.

So that's the Beyond Burger from Beyond Meat. You could have it seasoned or unseasoned. If I had to choose which of the two ways, I would choose the seasoned way just because it tastes more like a meat burger. I wish I could keep the shape that it comes in when its seasoned. I guess I have to work on that. I'm going to continue eating this burger and if my family doesn't show up to it I'm going to eat both burgers.

Surprise! Did you know that non-organic vegetables are coated with a wax made out of insects. And these days they could also have the very unappealing Apeel on them. And even when they are non-GMO, they are still laced with pesticides. On top of that, these burgers contain inflammatory ingredients (potato starch corn derivatives). So even if I liked their taste and texture (which I don't), I wouldn't touch then with a ten-foot pole.

The only veggie burger I found that's organic, has no wheat, potatoes, corn, gluten, etc.), is keto-friendly and tastes good (to me), is NoBull, and the big corps are making it very difficult to find it on shelves. I have to special order it from Whole…
